HOMEMADE TERIYAKI SAUCE

Not only is this sauce delicious, but it’s super easy to make! And using our shop’s ingredients, can be made package free! Reuse an old jar, whip this up on your stove top, and save it for when you’re ready! We love it over baked salmon, with stir fry vegetables and sushi rice.

1 cup water
5 TBS packed brown sugar
1/4 cup soy sauce
2 TBS honey
1 TBS sesame oil
1 large clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 cup cold water + 2 TBS cornstarch

1. Combine the 1 cup water, brown sugar, soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic and ginger in a medium saucepan and set over medium heat.
2. Combine the cornstarch with the 1/4 cup water to make a slurry and whisk until dissolved. Add the cornstarch mixture to the saucepan. Heat until sauce thickens.
3. Let it cool and place in fridge for future use or use immediately.
